A Medama (目め魂たま魂, Medama) is a peculiar creature, apparently some form of phantom or apparition resembling a large floating eyeball covered in ghostly flames. Medamas are native to the Hex Food World within Gourmet World which is home to a wide assortment of fantastical creatures.

History

AIR Arc

A Medama was first seen approaching the Four Heavenly Kings and Octo-chan as they entered the Amedama rain where Mappy revealed that it likely came from his village to greet them.

After the Four Heavenly Kings acquired AIR, a few Medamas were seen accompanying the gleeful villagers of Hex Food World who had come to taste AIR and gave thanks to the kings for all their efforts. When the members of NEO arrived, the Medamas apparently disappeared.

Trivia

• It is unknown whether these creatures are some form of mutants like some of the races of Hex Food World or if they're a result of the ghostly Amedama rain.
