This sound effect was originally part of the Major Records Sound Effects Library from Valentino, but has since gone out of print after Valentino Music shut down in the early 2010s. It is found on Valentino Vintage SFX's album "Vintage SFX - Animals".

Despite its name, the roars were actually recorded from an African elephant, as extended versions of this are available on The New CBS Audio-File Sound Effects Library, Vol. II and Animals Of Africa (Sounds of the Jungle, Plain & Bush), appropriately titled Elephant (Roars) and Elephant, respectively.

It is also included in two Gateway Records tracks, Bear and Zoo - Chimps, Zebra, Elephants, Rhino, Bear, as well as a standalone of the 3rd roar on Classic TV Sound Effects Library as ANIMAL, BEAR - LARGE BEAR GROWL 01.
