The roar of Gabara, the iconic monster from Toho's Showa era that debuted in All Monsters Attack (1969), is one of the most distinctive and unique sounds in the Godzilla cinematic universe.
Gabara's roars are mandrill screams which have been slowed down to sound like mocking laughter. The unedited sound effects were also used in episode 44 of Ultraseven. When Godzilla stomps on Gabara's chest in All Monsters Attack, he emits a chattering noise that was also used for a monkey in the same Ultraseven episode. Gabara's roars would go on to be reused or modified for the Ultra Series kaiju Alien Hipporito, Yadokarin, Femigon and Cathy.
In Go! Godman, Gabara instead uses roars which would go on to be shared by the Ultra monster Tyrant. In Godzilla: Monsters & Protectors - All Hail the King!, the onomatopoeia for his roar is "SKRAAAWW."
