The Anguirus Roar is a sound effect from TV shows, movies, and others. The 2004 variant includes Sound Ideas, ANIMAL, ELEPHANT - AGITATED CRIES, GROWLS, Sound Ideas, ANIMAL, WALRUS - SINGLE CALL 03, Hollywoodedge, Boar Wild Grunts Grow AT040802, Sound Ideas, ANIMAL, GRUNT - GRUFF, HOLLOW, RESONANT, GRUNTING CRY 02 and Hollywoodedge, Boar Wild Grunts Grow AT040801.

Like Godzilla, Anguirus' roars were created by a musical instrument: the saxophone.

Anguirus' roars were later sped up and used for Mothra. This is most evident in the film Godzilla vs. Mothra where, after being injured, Mothra lets out a roar that sounds almost identical to Anguirus'. In Godzilla Final Wars, his roars were mixed with animal growls. In Godzilla Singular Point, Anguirus maintains his traditional roars, but also lets out some roars and growls used by the Tyrannosaurus Rex in Jurassic Park.

Anguirus's roars are sometimes written in comics as "Maaaaronk" and "Gaaaaaaoooo".
