The Hollywood Edge was a U.S.-based company that produced and distributed stock sound effect libraries from the early 1990's until the early 2010's. It was one of the most popular stock audio companies, alongside its main rival, Sound Ideas. The company was so named because it was headquartered on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, United States. Its parent company was Todd-AO/Soundelux.
In 2014, the company filed for bankruptcy, with Sound Ideas soon acquiring the rights to all of their libraries, being the exclusive distributor since then. Due to this, the original CD and DVD versions of The Hollywood Edge's libraries have gone out of print, with only digital downloads remaining. But sometimes, they can still be found on Amazon and eBay for various prices. Hot Ideas Inc. also distributes some of the former libraries online.
