SKYWALKER, TRAIN - SUBTLE WHEEL CLATTERS WITH LOUD SCRAPES

This is a Skywalker Sound sound effect. It was created by either Tim Nielsen or Will Files, and it debuted in the 2004 motion-capture animated Christmas film The Polar Express. Some of the clatters heard in this sound heavily resemble SKYWALKER, FOOTSTEP - ALIEN TRIPOD FOOTSTEP (Specifically, the 2nd take).

  • The Lone Ranger (2013) (Small portions of the clattering elements are used for the sounds of the cars that Transcontinental Railroad No. 29 pulls at the beginning of the film clattering.)
  • The Polar Express (2004) (Debut; used twice throughout the film. Once in the background throughout the entire scene where the Hero Boy and the Hobo are atop the Observation car, and a second time that is mostly audible in the 5.1 mix when the locomotive starts to accelerate towards Glacier Gulch while the Hero Girl tries to get Steamer's attention to slow the train down.)
