This is a Skywalker Sound sound effect. The original set was created by Christopher Boyes, and it debuted in Quest for Camelot (1998). Some of the Disney variants are high pitched edits of Jurassic Park, T-Rex - Attack Roar (specifically, the variants used in The Lost World: Jurassic Park). It was also created by using the sounds of big cats, pigs, crocodilians, and several other animals. One roar also included SKYWALKER, ROAR - SAURON'S EYE ROAR.

The Universal variants, which debuted in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, were created by Al Nelson, using an orangutan, styrofoam and a double bass ribbon.
