These are a series of Skywalker Sound sound effects. They were created by Gary Rydstrom, and debuted in James and the Giant Peach (1996). The sounds were made by combining the crunching of crab shells, and bending a kids toy straw.

- The Polar Express (2004) (Either higher pitched variants of the creaking elements from these sounds or very similar are used multiple times throughout the film for the soles of the Conductor's shoes creaking.)
