SKYWALKER, METAL - SCRAPING RATTLE, RESOUNDING

This is a Skywalker Sound sound effect. It was made by Randy Thom, and it debuted in The Iron Giant (1999). It should not be confused with the nearly identical sounding SKYWALKER, METAL - SHORT, SCREECHING CLANK.

  • Cast Away (2000) (Heard once when the ELT device gets caught on the sinking wreckage of the plane before Chuck attempts to retrieve it.)
  • The Iron Giant (1999) (Debut; heard once in a slightly lower volume when the Iron Giant is chewing on scrap metal right as Dean says "If you gotta eat one of 'em, eat the scrap.".)
  • The Polar Express (2004) (Heard once on the right channel in a low volume when the locomotive starts to back up as the ice lake starts cracking closer to the train.)
