A random image of the Pteranodon from Jurassic World.
These are Skywalker Sound sound effects. The Jurassic Park variants were created by either Christopher Boyes or Christopher Scarabosio, and debuted in Titan A.E. (2000) and they were created by using the sounds of large bird sounds (including giant petrels and albatrosses) and a tree hyrax.
The Jurassic World variants were created by Al Nelson, and debuted in Jurassic World (2015). The sounds were made by recording and manipulating a giant otter in the zoo that was happily screeching during its feeding time. Osprey sounds have also been added, which Nelson recorded spontaneously on his iPhone in Florida. The mother osprey was fighting a fierce battle to protect her chicks from another osprey.
