Railroad Tycoon 3 is a video game, part of the Railroad Tycoon series, that was released in 2003.
Storyline
The storyline of Railroad Tycoon 3 is divided into several campaigns, each set on a different continent and featuring various historical periods. The campaigns include:
- USA Campaign: 1840–1941, with five scenarios.
- Europe Campaign: 1840–1914, with five scenarios.
- World Campaign: 1880–1985, with three scenarios.
- Future Campaign: 2025–2080, with three scenarios.
Players are given the key to an anonymous city after passing all scenarios on bronze or higher. The game features nearly 60 locomotives, including fictional ones, and offers a dynamic economic model where goods can be processed without trains involved. The game also includes a train-based puzzle game called Loco Commotion, which is included on the play disc as an optional extra.
