Summary
Max Headroom takes place in the future, where an oligarchy of television corporations rule the world, with the government being a puppet for the network executives, who also serve to pass laws, such as banning the off switch for televisions. Now, television technology has become so advanced that it can control movements and thoughts of the viewers through their televisions, and almost all non-television products have been either discontinued, or destroyed. Only one journalist, Edison Carter, can expose the practices of his employer with the help of his allies going in and out of the system, who can assist in getting his reports on the air and to protect him from the forces trying to kill him.
