King Ghidorah in the Showa Era Image.
This is a Toho sound effect, In the Showa era, King Ghidorah's cackles were produced by an early Electone electronic organ. In the Heisei era, his roar is borrowed and modified from Rodan in order to sound more dragon-like and somewhat metallic. This was done by multi-tuning Rodan's roar in both high and low pitches. This roar was used again for the mature King Ghidorah in Rebirth of Mothra 3, but deepened and mixed with growling noises. Cretaceous King Ghidorah's roars were modified from Desghidorah's elephant-like roar with an increased pitch, and were later used for Orga in the Japanese version of Godzilla 2000: Millennium. In Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, King Ghidorah's new roar was created to sound more similar to his Showa roar. Most of King Ghidorah's roars in GODZILLA: The Planet Eater came from Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, though a few of them were original roars. His roars in Godzilla: King of the Monsters incorporated recordings of rattlesnakes hissing and rattling. He also used Vastatosaurus rex roars from Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie twice, as well as a modified screech previously heard in the 2009 film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
