Animal Crossing Game Companion is a checklist-based utility designed for the Animal Crossing community with Animal Crossing: New Horizons in mind. It helps players track daily in-game tasks and long-term collectible progress directly through the wiki, supporting habitual engagement. The intention of this tool is to allow users to track their needs directly into the wiki, spending less time worrying about what's left to do and more time enjoying the experience.

Getting Started

Animal Crossing utility entry point

The companion is available to both logged-in and logged-out users on the Animal Crossing wiki via desktop and mobile web, but only logged-in users can register the progress.

Entry Points

  • Desktop: A button labeled "ACNH Checklists" is located in the left rail of the desktop left menu, positioned under the Explore icon. Clicking this opens the drawer and displays the companion card.
  • Mobile: Users will be able to access the companion via the mobile drawer soon. Additionally, a new icon will appear in the wiki-level mobile menu (to the left of the discussion icon).

A red showcase notification dot will appear on the entry icons to alert users to the new feature. This notification appears only once per user.

Companion Structure

The utility is divided into two primary sections, accessible via tabs at the top of the interface.

Daily checklist

The daily checklist is designed for recurring in-game activities.

Animal Crossing utility Daily Tasks
  • Task tracking: Includes approximately 20 tasks grouped by categories (e.g., Villagers, Resident Services, Shopping, Island Care, and Daily Tidying).
  • Manual reset: You can use the "Reset" button to manually clear all checked tasks.
  • Components: Each task includes a name, an illustrative image, a short description, and a checkbox for visual confirmation.

Collectible Checklist

The collectible checklist tracks long-term progress for over 100 items. Unlike the daily list, this progress never resets. And each item displays its title, image, and price.

Progress Persistence

While the utility is accessible to everyone, registration is encouraged for data safety. Logged-out users can use the companion, but progress is stored locally in the browser for the duration of the experiment. They will see a "Register / Log In" message encouraging them to use an account to track their progress. Attempting to check an item will trigger the authentication flow. After logging in, users can return to the checklist with their progress intact.
