Fukushima Sound (福島音響 Fukushima Onkyō) was a sound effects company founded in May 1967. They were responsible for a majority of synth and various sound effects that are heard in anime during the 1980's, although some of their library predates 1967. Frequent clients of theirs over the years have been Madhouse and Toei Animation.
On September 30, 2005, with the retirement of its representative Yukio Fukushima, the entire business was transferred to the new company Cinema Sound Works (シネマサウンドワークス), and Fukushima Sound was liquidated.
