Final Run is a 1999 action-adventure television film that was written by Michael Braverman and directed by Armand Mastroianni. It serves as the sequel for Final Descent (1997).
The film stars Robert Urich as Glen "Lucky" Singer, along with Patricia Kalember, Joel Palmer, John de Lancie, Scott Vickaryous, Cathy Lee Crosby and Udo Kier in supporting roles. Production and filming was done in Vancouver, British Columbia, with the surrounding lines of the former BC Rail being used for the train scenes.
The film would then be broadcasted on October 10, 1999 on CBS.
Synopsis
The Grand Royale is a new high-tech passenger train with a computerized engine. On its maiden voyage, it suffers a severe technical failure, killing the controller (Malcolm Scott) and gradually increasing its already high speed, at the rate of 2 more miles per minute. With heavily populated areas ahead and the risk of a deadly derailment, every minute counts and once again, it's up to Glen "Lucky" Singer (Robert Urich) to save the 200 passengers - including Singer's son and new wife - on board.
