A image of RHDR (Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch) Southern Maid (The engine responsible for the recording).
This is a rare sound effect that can not be found on any (already known) sound effects library, and it is going to be placed in the Unknown Sound Effects Library. Many believed that the whistle was came from DRG BR 01 202. However, It was unlikely that the locomotive wasn't operated in 1994 before it was rebuilt in 1995. The whistle from the recording actually came from RH&DR (Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway) Southern Maid #3's ex-Isle of Wight Hooter when it was departing from the station. It would make sense that #3 was operated when the fourth series of Thomas & Friends was came out during 1994.
