An image of an African elephant, the species responsible for the recording.
This sound effect was originally part of the Major Records Sound Effects Library from Valentino, but has since gone out of print after Valentino Music shut down in the early 2010s. It is found on Valentino Vintage SFX's album "Vintage SFX - Animals". Despite the sound effect's name, the roar was actually recorded from an African elephant.
It is included in CBS Special Products, Elephant (Roars), Gateway Records, Bear/HookSounds, Angry feline roaring in cage long SFX and Nonesuch Records, Elephant.
