This sound effect can be found on The General Series 6000 Extension I Sound Effects Library, which was made by Sound Ideas. Even though the sound effect is listed as being from a freight train, it's possible that it was recorded from a Metrolink commuter train, because the horn in this sound effect is a Nathan P2 airhorn, which is a common horn found on the fleet of Metrolink F59PH and F59PHI locomotives that are older than the current fleet of F125s. Since this recording was before 2008 (the introduction of the MP36PH-3C locomotives), the horn could either come from a Metrolink F59PH or F59PHI. It wouldn't be a cab car, as the rumble of the diesel engine as the train begins to pass rather than as the end of the train passes. Another possibility is Caltrain, as many of its diesel engines also used P2s.
