This's a Star Wars/Skywalker Sound sound effect created by Ben Burtt and made its debut on Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). It kind of sounds like an echo variant of the Katyusha/Nebelwerfer Rocket Launcher sound effect, based on these actual Soviet rocket launchers used during World War II in the early 1940s. However, the author generated it by banging a rock on a small Californian radio tower that had a cable with a broken brace, then mixed the sample with other sounds.
