These are sound effects that were made by Skywalker Sound. They were made by Randy Thom, and they debuted in The Iron Giant (1999). They should not be confused with the nearly identical sounding Hollywoodedge, Wapiti Elk Scream Cal AT049501 and 601. The sound heard is also known as bugling, meaning this was recorded from a bull elk.
