SKYWALKER, ROAR - HUGE, MOANING ROAR

This is a Skywalker Sound sound effect. It was created by either Randy Thom or his team (i.e., Will Files) and it debuted in the 2004 motion-capture animated Christmas film The Polar Express.

  • Cloverfield (2008) (Used once for either Clover itself or a distant building groan when the group exits from their hiding spot inside the grocery store after Clover's first appearance.)
  • Fast & Furious (2009) (The 1st half of this sound or a nearly identical sound is used once for the tanker semi's wheels screeching before the driver jumps out with his iguana during the opening chase.)
  • Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) (Used once for the Hydra when it roars at Percy after noticing him running for the pearl.)
  • The Polar Express (2004) (Debut; heard once when the locomotive begins to drift along the ice lake after Smokey and Steamer fix the throttle.)
