This is a rare MGM sound effect not included on the Hanna-Barbera Sound Effects Library. The whistle that is heard in this sound effect was said to be the GTW 6 chime whistle off of IAIS ex-China Railways "QJ" Class #6988. but #6988 wasn't built in 1942 because that locomotive would be built in the 80s, so the whistle most likely came from Southern Pacific #2472, Grand Trunk Western #5629 or any Grand Trunk Western U3b Class (example: GTW no. 6325). However, #5629 and #2472 both make sense as they were in operation in 1942.
