About

The character of Fenton Glackland is a recurring character in the seventh season of Scandal, portrayed by Dean Norris.

History

Fenton requested to be seated near Cyrus at the State Dinner for President Rashad because he thinks Cyrus is an expert in politics. He asked Cyrus where would he start if he wanted to run for governor. He then insisted that Cyrus gives him a private tour of the White House. While in the Oval office, Cyrus got furious with him and yelled at him because he doesn't take the job of the president and the veneration of the office seriously. Fenton then left the office and when Cyrus got back to his office, he found out that Fenton has given him the Cézanne painting that he bought. (Pressing the Flesh)

The next day, Cyrus went to the place Fenton lives to give him back the painting because there are laws that forbid him to accept a gift which is more than $20. Fenton invited him into his place to try out the virtual glasses with him. He insisted that they do this on daily basis and told Cyrus to teach him about politics. Cyrus refused at first but later he changed his mind and went to Fenton's place to buy the Cézanne with $20 and agreed to teach him about politics. (Lost Girls)

Fenton came to shadow Cyrus at work but he just sat around and used his phone rather than paying attention to the work that Cyrus does. When Cyrus told him off, he showed him that he was actually analyzing the war that Cyrus was pulling strings on senators about. He said he does it with all the new products he is considering to produce. At the end of the day, Cyrus admitted that Fenton will actually be good in politics and they shared a kiss. (Adventures in Babysitting)

When Quinn went missing, Olivia and Jake lied to the team at QPA and blamed it on Fenton. As furious as Charlie is, he went straight to Fenton without thinking any further. Fenton is all plastic wrapped up and hit with a bag of oranges and started to torture him for information but Huck came in time and stopped. (Vampires and Bloodsuckers)

When he got back from Montana, he broke up with Cyrus. When Cyrus asked why, he told him that he found out Charlie used to work for Cyrus. He called Cyrus 'a bad guy' and told that they are different kinds of people and left. (Robin)

Cyrus and Fenton

Fenton and Cyrus met at the State dinner that Mellie held for President Rashad. At the dinner, he told Cyrus he bought a Cézanne painting with $105 million for his office and when he saw that Cyrus appreciates the painting more than he does, he gave it to him as a gift. They bonded over the painting and Cyrus agreed to teach him about politics in exchange for the painting he gave him. They continued seeing each other but things took a turn when Charlie kidnapped him and threatened him to torture him. He visited to Montana for while after that and when he got back to D.C., he told Cyrus that while in Montana, he found out that Charlie used to work for him and called Cyrus a bad guy. He also said that they are different and unlike Cyrus, he wouldn't allow it if someone was trying to buy him with a painting. Fenton then ended things with him.
