After photos of Fitz Grant and Olivia Pope were exposed on The Liberty Report, Senator Linda Moskowitz and Senator Stanley Gibson opened an investigation into Fitz, his presidency and his relationship and affair with Olivia. Later, Olivia Pope was on her way back to Olivia Pope & Assosciates when she was swarmed by journalists and paparazzi, who asked her if she was indeed Fitz' mistress, she was hesitant at first but she eventually gave them a one word answer Yes.

The next day, Olvivia was on the front page of the Clarion International newspaper, under the headline Grant's Mistress Confirms Affair and a few weeks after opening the investigation, David Rosen informs Fitz that the investigation may lead to the possibility of Fitz' impeachment.
