The Republic of Zalimba (Zalimban Creole: Repiblik Zalimba, Bloxish: República de Zalimba) also known commonly as Zalimba or Zali, is a landlocked country in Central Bloxveld. Zalimba covers a land area of about 620,000 square kilometres (240,000 sq mi), and has an estimated population of about 15 million as of 2025. The capital and largest city is Dangwa with an estimated population of 2 million (and 4 million residents in the metropolitan area).
Zalimbans are ethnically and culturally diverse. The majority are Zalimban, with significant Bunusi and Ghkoxaï communities. Religions include Protestant Christianity (≈50 %), Sunni Islam (≈45 %), and smaller indigenous faiths (≈5 %). The main language, Zalimban Creole, is used in most public spaces. Minority languages like Bunusi and Ghkoxaï remain vital in rural areas, helping preserve community traditions. Some older citizens still speak Spanish, which is the colonial language of Zalimba.
Zalimba has one of the lowest quality of life in Bloxveld, at 0.37, reflecting limited access to education, healthcare, and basic services, particularly outside major cities. The problem has worsen by the brutal ongoing Zalimban War since 2000, which has heavily influenced daily life, with multiple factions including the Zalimban Defense Forces, the People’s Movement of Zalimba and the Bakhā Front competing for control over territory.
