Tropical Storm Alberto was one of the most catastrophic tropical storms in the history of the Bloxington Ocean basin. Alberto was the only named storm of the 2024 Bloxington Ocean hurricane season. Alberto was the latest named storm on record in the basin.
Meteorological Synopsis:
On September 11, the Robloxia Hurricane Center noted a tropical low just south of the midpoint of Easton International Airport and Yellowbrick Airport. The low became organized over a couple days and on September 15, had 10 mph winds. Later that day, the storm's intensification stalled, but Robloxia Hurricane Center did not care and decided to give it a name, Alberto. Slow intensification occurred overnight, causing Alberto to have 18 mph winds the next morning. Alberto's intensification slowed so much that by late that morning, Alberto had 19 mph winds. Alberto continued to intensify slowly during that afternoon, having 23 mph winds by the end of the afternoon. It had a pressure of 1011 mbar at the time.
Due to slow intensification, plans to use a new technique to save lives, emergency advisories, which would be issued every hour to warn Robloxians under warning about the oncoming storm and how dangerous the storm was expected to be at landfall, appeared to be scrapped until the first emergency advisory was issued at 4:00 p.m. on September 16. At that same time, tropical depression watches and warnings were planned to be posted, but were scrapped, but were still posted anyway. With the issue of this emergency advisory, Alberto was still a tropical depression with 26 mph winds.
Later that evening, during the second emergency advisory, Alberto still was not upgraded, with 30 mph winds. Slow intensification occurred again, as Alberto had 32 mph winds. Winds of 36 mph were recorded, with gusts exceeding 39 mph. Overnight, the slow intensification of Alberto stopped occurring. In only 24 hours, Alberto went from 10 mph winds to 36 mph. Alberto strengthened slightly overnight. The final emergency advisory of the day put Alberto as a very high-end tropical depression. The intensity did not change for about 12 hours until winds of 39 mph were recorded.
On the same morning, cities and towns along the coast were evacuated. Many of them were told to stay with family members that do not live along the coast. Then, one hour later, Alberto became the only tropical storm of the season at 40 mph winds. This only lasted 7 hours, as Alberto weakened back into a tropical depression. Further weakening occurred the next day, and Alberto continued going north. Late evening, Alberto hit a city as a 33-mph depression. Due to land interaction, Alberto slowly weakened into a 27-mph depression. The next day, Alberto fell further to 18 mph winds and further weakening continued. Later that day, Alberto's final advisory was issued. 0 direct deaths, 310 indirect deaths, and R$1.892 billion in damage resulted from Alberto.
Impacts:
Despite there being no flash flooding, damage occurred in cities hit by the tropical depression/storm. However, a state of emergency was declared in the state of the crash site of Robloxian Airlines Flight 263, mainly in a county, in a village, where 310 indirect deaths occurred. According to news reports, the village was not destroyed. There was infinitesimal damage to homes and businesses in the village. Alberto crossed into Robloxian Airlines Flight 263 before weakening. In that area, two nearby towns sustained the worst damage. Many Robloxians were evacuated despite the power lines not being downed.
The outer bands of Alberto struck the cities to the north, causing no damage.

Upon formation, Alberto (at the time One-S) was the latest named storm on record.
Retirement
The name Alberto was retired one month after it formed, on October 15. The Robloxia Hurricane Committee announced that the name Agirljennifer would replace Alberto for 2030.
