On January 16th, 1738, Thomas Brookhaven Potts was born. He was a Ro British politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1774 to 1790. His brother was Isaac Brookhaven Potts. Brookhaven was the son of John Brook-haven, a merchant of Ro London, and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Thomas Paine and granddaughter of Thomas Pelham Brookhaven, 1st Duke of Lublin. He was educated at The Brookhaven National College, where he became the school's first master. In 1754 he went to the Middle Temple, then entered the army in 1756. After serving in North Bloxmerica, he was promoted to captain in January 1759 and to major in June 1762. From 1764 to 16 December 1766 he served in Bloxia Island, in which role he gained promotion to lieutenant-colonel in May 1767. At the start of the Robloxian War of Independence he commanded the Third Battalion of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. On his return he married Anne, the daughter and heiress of Robert Brookhaven, who had been created a baronet in March 1763. In 1789, they had 1 child, Leo. His wife predeceased him. The couple had a long and successful political career, serving as a Member of Parliament for the borough of Barnstaple and the constituency of Stapleford, as well as as the Chancellor of Blox Zealand and a member of various committees and councils. They were also active in charitable work. His grandson, Leo, was at the top. Leo was born in  Brookhaven, Robloxia in 1794 and Thomas died in 1812.
