Description
The October 6th - October 9th, 1984, Car Crashes was a series of vehicle crashes that was located in Crash Town (formerly named Blockyville), mostly in Clockwork Street. Around 316 vehicle crashes were reported, and 914 deaths were confirmed during the event. Approximately R$13,002,341,886 (13.0 billion) in damages was present. The cause of the crashes is still unknown to this day. One theory that is widely believed is that the weather affected the car's controls. Temperatures were freezing cold at around -10°C (14°F) during those crashes alone.
Another theory was corroborated based on reports of vehicles, mostly trucks falling from towers, such as Teapot Tower. This has caused some to believe there was a terrorist attack on Crash Town, while others believe it was the RSCP Foundation trying to get rid of the Blockyvillians (which is unconfirmed to this day).
Yet another theory is that the town did not invest in road maintenance, causing several car crashes.
Timeline
October 5th: A small group of Robloxians notice that vehicles are driving very awkwardly near Clockwork Street.
October 6th: The first crash is reported, A tanker collided with a car carrier causing a fireball to form. This causes panic and many Robloxians crash to the crash site. The cause of the tanker crash is because the tanker rammed into the car at a high speed (105 kmph) and started a fire which later spread and was contained. It's also can't be decelerated by its brakes. It is said that the man who cut off the tanker's brakes is Nelson Williams.
October 7th: The crashes get worse. Black smoke and fire take over streets. Firefighters and police officers are called over to help clean up the mess, but they ended up being part of the thing they swore to destroy. News reporters get on the action, broadcasting this accident nationwide. One Robloxian on the news stated the following: "These people can't even drive for their life!". A mass casualty event is declared.
October 8th: The Blockyvillian Governor, Nedson Blockyton, notices that the crashes are getting out of hand now. He tries to shut down Clockwork Street and all routes leading to the said street. This unfortunately does not stop the crashes though; the crashes worsened, with reports of trucks falling from skyscrapers become common. At this point, citizens beg for Blockyton to shut down the city overall.
October 9th: Nedson Blockyton issues a law stating that it is forbidden to drive vehicles, with drivers caught and detained. This dramatically declines the rate of crashes. Eventually, crashes become a figment of Crash Town's past.
October 10th: Blockyton then realizes the law's disadvantage: because of damaged workplaces and the inability to mint currency, the city gradually gets depleted due to Robloxians not being able to visit their workplaces.
October 11th to October 20th: The town officially starts to move out civilians.
October 21st: Crash Town is officially closed. All Robloxians that used to live there have either moved out of Robloxia or live in neighboring cities.
