The Crying Thing (Also known as The Figure At LakeVille) is a legend believed in some parts of Wisconsin, especially Greenville and its surrounding cities. The famous legend was originated in Greenville, Wisconsin. The Crying Thing is believed to be an unknown figure that appears at the lake in LakeVille every decade and would make ‘crying’ sounds. The Crying Thing first appeared on December 11, 1961, during a snowstorm. The most recent occurrence is believed to be on December 11, 2021, but has no evidence. The next time it is said that the next time the legend would reappear on December 11, 2031.

1961
On December 11, 1961, The Crying Thing was first seen, and was witnessed by three residents of Lakeville. It was during a cold and fatal snowstorm that occurred in Greenville, which is now known as ‘The 1961 Greenville Snowstorm’. The three residents, Donald Bloxord (aged 11), Herbert Blocks (aged 15), and Arnold Blocks (aged 47) (ages at that time).
1971
In 1971, The Crying Thing was witnessed by a new mover to the neighborhood called John Blocky, who claimed to have moved from Rosylvania. When he witnessed the crying thing through his window, he called his neighbors who were still living in the neighborhood, Donald, Herbert and Arnold. They had told they also seen it a decade ago. There were more than three witnesses, and some witnesses have seen it from far away. For example, one witness took the picture above. A few minutes later, the crying thing went to a nearby parked car with its headlights turned on, but the driver and car plate seems to be unidentified. The creature left without harming anyone.
1981
The Crying Thing appeared again, and the neighborhood later speculated that the figure comes every decade. Not much was known at this year of appearance.
1991
A few days before December 11, The Crying Thing’s investigation started. Cameras were put around LakeVille to monitor any signs of potential breaking development. The crying thing was not found in the footage dating to December 11, 1991. Newspapers were about to report that "The Creator of the Crying Thing is Lying". However, some Robloxians interviewed stated simply that they witnessed it, and the crying thing also left some traces.

On, December 11, 2021, a BloxTuber called Matt Bloxy travelled to LakeVille and lived with one of the local residents. Matt recorded the area and discovered the crying thing. Unfortunately, the footage started to lag and blur when the crying thing was shown. He continued investigating after he returned to his home.

On July 15, 2019, the BloxTuber, Matt Bloxy, made a video about the story of the crying thing. Because of this BloxTube video, the legend went to mainstream national media rather than becoming a town-wide urban legend. Later on, December 11, 2021, Matt travelled to LakeVille and lived with one of the local residents. Matt recorded the area and discovered the crying thing. Unfortunately, the footage started to lag and blur when the crying thing was shown. He continued investigating after he returned to his home.
