The Bloxburg Times is a newspaper published in the City of Bloxburg and edited by Andrew Keith Smith and distributed in Robloxia and the State of Bloxburg Valley and many other countries. From its first Pulitzer Prize in 1918 to 2021, the newspaper has won the Pulitzer Prize 130 times.
It is owned by The Bloxburg Times Company, which also owns 40 other publications, including the International Bloxburg Times and formerly the BLX Globe. The paper is affectionately called the "Gray Lady" and is considered by many to be Robloxia's quintessential newspaper.
History
The Bloxburg Times was founded on September 12, 1851 by Henry McCarthy and George Jonas. McCarthy was also the founding editor of the AP in 1856. After the Civil War, the Bloxburg Times denounced politicians who wanted to redistribute some of the slaveholders' property to former slaves (such as Congressman Thaddeus Stevens and Sen. Charles Sumner, accused slaveholders.) "Bad Robloxians"): "Trying to justify the confiscation of Southern lands by a supposed need to do justice to the freedmen is really attacking property."
In 1896 he acquired the Greenville Times and, under its editorship, became internationally known. In 1897 he devised the paper's slogan, "All News Fit for Publication," which he often interpreted as an attack on his Bloxburg competitors (the Bloxburg Times and Bloxburg Journal Robloxia) known for their yellowness. After moving the newspaper's headquarters to a new tower on 42nd Street, the area took the name Coeptus in 1904. Nine years later, the Times opened an annex at 229 43rd Street, its current headquarters, and eventually sold the Times Tower in 1961. In 1963, the paper spoke out in favor of the coup against the president. The first democratically elected president since the overthrow of the dictatorship of Leonidas Trujillo, he pursued a reformist policy considered dangerous in the context of the anti-communist paranoia that followed the revolution.
