History

Symson Town was established in the mid-1800s as a small settlement near the Symson Lake, originally used as a trading post for fur traders and early settlers. It was named after Samuel Symson, an early settler who mapped much of the area and helped establish its first industries. The Symson Rail Line, built in the 1870s, led to an increase in logging and agriculture, and the town grew as more people moved in to work in sawmills and on farms.

By the early 20th century, Symson Town had developed into a regional center, with more businesses, schools, and services. The Great Depression in the 1930s affected the town, causing job losses and forcing some residents to leave in search of work elsewhere. However, by the 1950s and 1960s, the town recovered, with improvements in transportation, infrastructure, and public services.
