The center of the shopping mall, where a clothing store collapsed on the left side
The collapse of the Strawberry Beach Mall was a tragedy that occurred on August 21, 1992, behind the Robloxia Beach. Approximately 281 people were killed and 365 were injured.
Chronology
Prior to the collapse:
Since 1987, professional chefs have been hired in one of the mall's food court restaurants, where the best cooking technology has been used. The professional chefs were paid well and everything seemed normal and great.
Day of Collapse (August 21, 1992)
In the morning, preparations were made for the second concert hall of the mall. As of 10:52 a.m., there were 83 people in the shopping center, and the number fluctuated throughout the day. At 2:10 p.m., the venue was ready, but the musical band scheduled to play was delayed.
Collapse
Eventually, a distracted chef (Chef Joe Kingblox) who was cooking a filet mignon was reading the newest book in the Dog Blox franchise, causing a fire to break out in the kitchen of one of the mall's food court restaurants, causing the cooks to stop cooking to try to put it out. Later, there was an explosion, causing another fire to break out just as rapidly as the first. 25-year-old Roger Reed and 37-year-old Brenda Patterson were working in the food court as employees; Roger Reed was a cook, and Brenda Patterson was a cashier. Roger Reed died first due to the explosion in the kitchen, and Brenda Patterson died second as she was quickly burned alive because of the explosion. The food court was the embodiment of hell as the fire spread very quickly, causing more sharp strong explosions to occur. As Mark Reyes, Billy Cards, John Miller, died, Robloxians started to die en masse. In the food court, the roof and walls began to collapse. Chairs and tables flew apart before the floor collapsed. The food court then rapidly fell apart and burned to the ground. Paul Kerpenter died as he fell from the food court to the first floor in the center. The children's activity park on the fourth floor collapsed too, killing children, including Robin Moore, Frank Schmidt, and Stephen Farmer. The Activity Park began to burn after the food court. The floor collapsed, as toys burned and walls fell. The mass destruction of property and death of people began as soon the shopping center itself began to collapse. There was an explosion, destroying the store. Meanwhile, on the second floor, eleven people were on the toilet at the time when the floor collapsed. Only one survived and he went into a coma until he was discharged in 1994. More explosions and destruction would occur for the next 41 seconds until all became silent in the mall.
After Collapse
After the collapse of the Strawberry Beach Mall, the chef who started the fire (who was identified as “Junior Rotomiblox”), was arrested for arson even though he argued in court that it was accidental. Arson is the act of starting a devastating fire and is a strict liability. The wreckage was moved to New Blockers City for reconstruction, and was later reopened in 1995. The new location was near the Ro-Empire State Building. To celebrate, a full parade was commenced in honor of this famous mall. At the back of the mall, there was a memorial that honored the victims of the original collapse.
