Stores PLC (formerly known as BloxCo PLC from 1983 to 2018; also known as KFC Stores PLC and Co. from 1977 to 1983; thereof having changed its name to avoid confusion with Bloxco), is a now-defunct superstore chain founded by CEO Mack Bloxison, whose father was the CEO of Bloxmart from 1967 to 2012. The chain’s lifetime was started in 1977, and the conclusion of its lifetime was decided in 2025. Stores was formerly a member of Stores Group, which was called 'Sallyblox Group' at the time of Stores' acquiration in 2019.

History

Stores was established under the trading name “KFC Stores PLC & Co.” in July of 1977 after Bloxison had plans to establish a competitor to Bloxmart, which his father had allegedly said no to.

Bloxison later extended the original store from 3 square meters to 16,000 square meters[1] in 1989 (during the period the company was called BloxCo) and therefore gave more room for the deals, as the original never could hold a toy or two.

In 2012, the store was briefly renamed to Bloxia Stores Inc, in order to brand in the Bloxmerica store market, but instead, the market changed to Bloxia Kingdom and Bloxland only, and the already popular BloxCo name was put in again.

In 2023, the name changed to Stores, the final name, and kept this until 2025.

The first variant of Stores’ logo was handwritten text saying “KFC Stores PLC & Co.”

In 1983, rainbow text was adopted, and the text said “BLOXCO”.

In 2023, however, the new logo was selected, utilizing the Roblox 2022 font and adding the square O instead of a standard O in the name.

Death

In 2025, after millions of cases involving confusion around the product names and their labels, the hammer fell on death, and Stores later met its demise. It has since been defunct.
