Ron Arthur Smith (August 28, 1935 – September 30, 2020) was a Robloxian actor and singer known for being one of the most influential singers of the 1950s and 1960s having a large amount of songs in the billboard hot 100. He was also known for his significant contributions in music and the entertainment industry helping him be in the list of Significant Robloxians of Music.

Early Life and Education

Ron Arthur Smith was born on August 28, 1935, and was raised in a small quiet neighborhood in Bloxburg. He was the son of Arthur Smith, a factory worker, and Marie Miller, a housewife, Smith had grew up with a brother, Deborah Smith, who he had a great relationship with. His parents had strong beliefs in religion and often sang in the church.

Ron’s talent of music was noticeable from an early age, and he had surprised Robloxians due to his great singing. Smith had often participated in small competitions and school talent shows, however did not get a very great position. Throughout the years, he had gradually improve in singing and he was also highly interested in music, often playing his grandfather’s piano when he came back from school. He was also interested in other instruments such as the guitar. As he grew up through Roblox War II and after that, Smith was highly influenced by artists like Walden Davidson and Dakota Williams.

Life and Career

During the early 1950s, Smith began his music career, initially performing in small theatres and other places around Bloxburg. As his popularity grew, he had released his first album, Street Hats in 1955. The song became quite popular and Smith had later aimed for better goals.

With the rise of rock and roll during the mid 1950s, Smith had started to also make those types of songs, or songs with a mix of jazz and rock and roll. His unique style compelled a large amount of audiances, and his 1958 song, "Heartbreaking," became a hit across the nation. Smith had announced that the song was inspired by a few of Luther Carson's songs, the legendary rock and roll singer which was later published in The Robloxian Times. Smith had started gaining a huge reputation and was widely known among the entertainment industry.

Smith's career continued to rise throughout the early 1960s, with a series of hits across the nation as his songs, War Cane (1960), Sweet as Candy (1960) and Hitting the Guitar (1961), instantly became popular and had majorly helped on the rise of Smith's career.

During the mid to late 1960s, Smith had expanded his career into acting. His first acting role was a supporting part in the 1964 drama film, In The Night, where he played a struggling musician. Smith had continued his acting career, playing several main roles in numerous of television series and films.

One of his most notable role was in the 1971 film, Dreama which revolved around a plot where he and several of his friends were stuck in a horrifying dream. The film was quite popular and had also attracted audiences because of Smith’s appearance in the film.

In his later years, Smith continued to perform his songs and he had frequently acted in films and television series. His health began to decline in the mid 2010s due to unhealthy habits, however he remained active in his job, often attending various events and continuing to entertain his fans. In October 2017, he announced his retirement from performing, talking about his desire to spend more time with his family and try other things. Smith had still remained a prominent and significant figure of the entertainment industry.

Death

Smith had unexpectedly passed away of a heart attack at Blorida General Hospital on September 30, 2019, at the age of 86. His death had shocked the nation. Several artists had continued to respect him in speeches and Smith remained a popular figure.

Personal Life

Despite his public success, Ron was known to be having many things other than his fame. He was married twice, his first marriage to singer Sarah Moore in 1960 ended in divorce after a two years after his wife had supposedly betrayed him. In 1965, he married to his childhood friend Diana Tucker, and they had three children. Smith had a great family.
