Alert! This policy is proposed
The right to appeal will only be offered to Robloxiapedia users who have been blocked or banned with the ability to edit talk pages (or message walls). It also applies to Robloxiapedia staff members who have been demoted and their user rights revoked.
Appeal Policy: Most users and Robloxiapedia staff members who have done non-severe actions on the encyclopedia are entitled to at most three appeals before finalization of sentence (block, ban, or demotion). If successful, the decision action would range from reduction of blocks and the conversion from a ban to a block. If extremely successful, users will be eligible for immediate unblocking, unbanning, or repromotion. For severe cases, users might be revoked the ability to appeal. Alternative ways on how the ability to appeal can be revoked when it is known that the user is planning to break rules well in advance of their first edit/post in Robloxiapedia. This includes making threats to break rules on Robloxiapedia on off-platform websites.
- Blocks can only be appealed during a limited appeal period of seven days with the blocking administrator. After which, appeals may be done only with the Robloxiapedia bureaucrat.
- Bans can be appealed after two weeks and have a limited appeal period of three appeals.
Guidelines when writing your appeal
Is it a Global Block/Ban or Local Block/Ban: Always check if you are blocked/banned globally or just banned by Robloxiapedia. If you were blocked/banned globally, please note that Robloxiapedia is unable to take any action on appeals of global bans and blocks due to their inability to remove global blocks and bans or request that they be reduced. You can contact Fandom staff to appeal, which will not follow this appeal policy.
Always write to an Official Staff: When sending your message, always check if the user you are writing to is a Robloxiapedia staff member. Please note real staff members will always have a special icon on their profile picture on Discuss.
Be Civil and Respectful:
The keep it civil rule in Robloxiapedia still applies, especially when you are engaging in a discussion with a staff member; it is important to remember that personal attacks are never acceptable. If you disagree with the staff member's opinion or even the decision on the appeal, it is perfectly fine to criticize their argument, but it is not okay to attack them as a person (also known as ad hominem). Additionally, it is important to avoid using bigoted language that can be harmful or offensive to others. This includes slurs that target individuals or groups based on their gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, or any other identifying characteristic. Always strive to communicate with respect and civility, even if you strongly disagree with someone else's point of view.
If you refuse to keep it civil by writing disrespectful and uncivilized messages on your appeal, especially in response to a denied appeal, you will have your appeal automatically denied, and if this occurs multiple times, the Robloxiapedia bureaucrat has the right to extend your block, possibly extending it to a ban, and you may not be granted the ability to appeal for the rest of your block or ban due to exhaustion of your appeal quota or continued incivility. You will be asked to apologize to the staff members who were personally attacked or targeted/offended with the bigoted language and swear not to do it again immediately after your block expires.
State a VALID Reason: When writing your appeal message, you must state why Robloxiapedia staff must undo the sanction taken (block, ban, or demotion). You must have evidence of the moderation action before sending an appeal if you are arguing that you did not commit the moderation action in question. Submitting without any evidence (within 3-4 days) would mostly result in it being denied due to lack of evidence. If appealing to a ban: your reasoning must be truthful for consideration, and, if written; apologetic. Writing a non-valid reason would result in your appeal being denied.
Do not SPAM: Since staff members in Robloxiapedia are not always available, you must not engage in the act of spamming. Not only does this violate the civility clause, but spamming your appeal request multiple times on a staff's message wall will not result in a higher priority, and if done to the bureaucrat's message wall, he might turn off message walls temporarily to restrict the entry of appeals.
Ensure you are confident and truthful of your appeal: Always remember that appeals must be truthful. You must be telling the absolute truth under penalty of sanctions being extended or one appeal attempt being used.
