Production
In 2008, the Roblox group started doing research about their merchandise, where it turned out that 100% of Roblox customers were boys and none were girls. Originally, the line would be called Roblox Scala. However, it was changed to Roblox Friends in 2009 so costumers would not be confused with the manga; earlier prototypes showed that the toys would be different than whatever they ended up being. Earlier sketches were made somewhere in 2010 and it took around 2-3 years until these toys were released. All of the concept art and prototypes for the toys were shown in a 10 year anniversary blog post in 2022.
This line of ROBLOX sets replaced the Belville toys as the main brand for girls from the ROBLOX group.
