RobloxBound (originally known as MOTHER 2 in Neo-Japan) is a roleplaying game (RPG) and video game released on the SBES (Super Bloxtendo Entertainment System) on August 27, 1994 (in Neo-Japan) and June 5, 1995 in Robloxia.
This game was one of the first video games in Robloxia to officially use a Ro-ESRB rating. Previously, it was rated KA (Kids to Adults), but it is now rated T for Teen.
Premise
It is about four kids, Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo, who for some reason like battling this Mewtoo-looking thing called “Giygas” (or Gyiyg in Neo-Japanese).
The 2025 remake
In 2025, a remake of the game in 3D was made for the Bloxtendo Swapp. However, the remake was esoteric due to the timing of its release as it was released the same day as the Bloxtendo Swapp 2's release. Many Bloxtendo gamers thought that it was intended to be played on the Swapp 2, only to find out that it was for the original Swapp, but it did not matter anyway due to Swapp games being compatible with the Swapp 2 due to reverse compatibility.
The game is yet to be released on Robloxia. Fortunately, Bloxtendo's CEO, Nagisa Furukawa has confirmed that a English translation of the remake is currently on the works. Unfortunately, it is most likely going to be cancelled due to Furukawa's incompetence and his tendencial inclination to cancel game projects even when the game is considered to be significantly complete.
Fun Facts:
- The reason why it is called “RobloxBound” in Robloxia is because the first game, MOTHER 1 (which would later be released in 2015 as “RobloxBound Beginnings”) was not released in Robloxia yet. It was meant to be released in Robloxia.
- The protagonist, Ness, appears in Super Smash Blox.
- There is a manga based upon this game called “MOTHER 2: 4-koma Manga Oukoku” (the title translates to “MOTHER 2: 4-Piece Manga Kingdom).
- It was nearly cancelled until Mr. Iwata "saved" the game from cancellation.
- The game is inspired by Robloxian culture.
