The RoCity Power Plant Railroad is an industrial railway that transports coal from the mine to the RoCity Electric Powerplant. It runs for 14.2 miles.
History
When the plant first opened, convoys of dump trucks were used to haul coal. But this cost the company millions of robux yearly, so to cut costs, they built a train track in 1973 to link the two areas. Originally, 9 E60 Locomotives were shipped from the TRR for use on the route. Also, because the mine and power plant require transportation of the workers, a motor coach was ordered, but it was de-motored. From its inception, it was electrified via an overhead wire, and remained so until 2004, when the railway shut down briefly, because of maintenance problems and the wires were de-electrified, due to high maintenance costs. After that, four new horizon coaches were donated by the TRR for employee transport.
