Play Jailbreak before it was Jailbreak

Redwood Prison was a large prison in Bloxburg, currently wardened by a Robloxian named RoyStanford where prisoners, fugitives or prison guards were housed. It opened on April 21, 2002, and had its last renovations on October 9, 2017. The prison was losing its popularity because nearby Jailbreak County prisons became more popular than the prison itself. As of October 2020, the prison is abandoned.

Jobs:

Prison Guards

The goal of the prison guards, according to RoyStanford, is to make prisoners follow the schedule and keep discipline in the prison. They are always police officers recruited for the job. However, most prison guards will not listen to RoyStanford, believing that just stopping prisoners from escaping and catching fugitives is enough. They frequent the armory, which they take handcuffs, a taser, and a Beretta M9 and store them on their police backpack. They also must wear police uniforms at all time. They may go to the armory again to get a M16 and a SPAS-12. They may wear a police hat. The police may choose to be a member of SWAT or a member of Spec Ops, the latter of which would give them more powerful gear.

Prisoners

Prisoners try to escape prison. They can work with fellow inmates, fugitives and sometimes even prison guards to escape the prison. They can become fugitives by escaping. They have a fugitive hideout near the prison. Inside of the fugitives hideout, there is an armory, which is simply a wall of weapons they can use. The AK-47 M1014 and a Makarov are two examples of weapons.

Fugitives

Fugitives are former prisoners who have escaped and usually hang out at the fugitive hideout/military tent in Walworth, a district in Bloxburg. Their goal is to bust other prisoners out and kill the prison guards. Fugitives will always sleep in the fugitive hideout and promise not to take off their fugitive clothing. Prison guards may arrest fugitives. The hideout consists of guns and a hammer that any Robloxian can pick up. The guns are an AK-47, a M1014, and a Makarov. Fugitives can also opt to join their program: Mercenary. In Mercenary, they are given the right to take off their fugitive clothing. They also have access to the Mercenary sub-hideout, which also has an armory that consists of more powerful guns.

Escape Methods:

Various methods of escaping are described below. For notability reasons, only the most frequent ways of escaping are listed here.

Prisoners usually after escaping may hail a helicopter to land on a helipad once they escape or go to the fugitive hideout.

Prisoners usually can go in the courtyard and find a guitar. Those guitars are usually abandoned in towers and tents. Trenton, an inmate in the prison will usually trade the guitar with a hammer. He will usually be out of his cell be near a stack of boxes. Prisoners can climb on the stack all the way to the vent and break the vent lid with the hammer. Prisoners can then crawl through it. Eventually, they will be on the roof of the prison.

Prisoners usually exploit opportunities when the inner gate is open as escaping is as simple as walking out. However, if the outer gate is closed, prisoners would then climb to the ladders next to the towers, and jump off.

Prisoners usually sneak on prison guards. They would usually learn how to navigate to the prison's armory and helipad, both of which are restricted to them only.

Prisoners usually climb the tower in the yard and jump off the railings onto the roof of the prison. Prisoners will then wait for a helicopter to pick them up. However, prison guards are likely to visit the area.

Prisoners usually steal helicopters in the courtyard or become passengers in the helicopter.

Prisoners usually pretend to be a prison guard. When they are released, they go to the fugitive hideout. However, they will not be able to handcuff Robloxians due to the hideout's policy of banning handcuffs, though the Robloxian can still use their taser given to them. Some Robloxians criticize this impersonation method as giving the prisoners an unfair advantage.

Accidentally, prison guards will help prisoners escape. Prisoners will usually follow a line that any prisoner can join or leave, using the line as an advantage and led by a prison guard. They eventually become fugitives after thanking the prison guard sarcastically.

How to get back in:

If the outer gate is closed, Robloxians can climb on the roof of a car or a van and then jump over the gate.

Robloxians can pick up the hammer in the fugitive hideout, hail a helicopter, and ask for a ride to the roof of the prison. Robloxians then have to find the vent of the prison and break its lid. The ventilation system will direct the Robloxians to the main cell area.

A fake identification card can be used to get through any outside guard-only door, such as the helipad door. Robloxians can use the door to re-enter the prison.

If riding a helicopter, Robloxians can land in the courtyard or on the roof of the prison or garage.

Ways to aid the prisoners:

Robloxians can land in the courtyard with their helicopter and wait for prisoners to get inside the helicopter. While flying, Robloxians are advised to avoid being shot by the prison guards or inviting them onboard. Some Robloxians abandon their helicopters, willing to aid their accomplice.

Robloxians can also open the inner gate and the outer gate, so prisoners can simply become fugitives by walking out.

Robloxians can also start a ride-sharing business with one destination: the fugitive hideout for the fugitives.

Robloxians can break the vent in the main cell area with the hammer so prisoners can go through. However, prison guards will most likely fix the vent after it is destroyed.

A Robloxian posing as a prison guard can start a line of prisoners that anybody can join and leave and take them out of the prison. However, this is criticized by Robloxians as this gives the prisoners unfair advantage and makes the prison guards uncomfortable as it makes them look "irresponsibly bad".

Strategies:

Robloxians tend to use ground vehicles as backup vehicles as their helicopters will explode if shot by the prison guards multiple times.

Robloxians can also crawl to avoid being shot.

Robloxians can also shoot helicopters with their guns, preferably, the M16 or AK47 as they can explode helicopters easier than the SPAS-12 or M1014.

Robloxians can also rapid-fire their shotgun in case they run out of vehicles.

Robloxians can also grab a shotgun, an assault rifle, and a pistol to serve as their backup weapons.

Robloxians can also practice the art of strafing.

Robloxians can also corner all prison guards into the armory. While the prison guards are busy, Robloxians can open as many doors as they can before a prison guard stops them. A keycard to do this is available in a brown house near the fugitive hideout.

Rooms and Areas:

There exists several different rooms and areas in Redwood Prison. Most have a purpose in either defending or escaping the prison.

Main cell area:

The main cell area, locally referred to as the J Block, is where most prisoners will be if they have good intentions. Eight cells, housing the prisoners, are located there. Trenton is already a livelong inmate in there, so that makes only seven cells. Trenton also is willing to trade; Trenton will give prisoners a hammer they can use to escape by breaking the air vent located in the main cell area if Robloxians give him his abandoned guitar that he left behind on the guard tower near the door leading to the yard. It also has a barbershop, but barbers here usually make Robloxians bald.

Cafeteria:

The Cafeteria is the area is in between the Main Hall and the main cell area. It has six tables for meals and a counter where food can be picked up during the prison's scheduled breakfast, lunch, and dinner time. The cafeteria is also commonly used by fugitives to kill prison guards.

Entrance:

The main entrance to the prison is a part of the prison's courtyard that connects the prison's garage and the Innergate area to the Main Hall. This is where the most breakouts occur. Prisoners can escape in the Innergate Area if it is open, through the hatch to the inner gate control room, or some Robloxian with a keycard is stalked all the way to the garage.

Inner Gate:

A gate that be opened by a guard tower which requires a keycard to enter. Recently, guards have left this gate open.

Outer Gate:

A gate that can be opened by a guard in the control room. Mostly, fugitives jump over the fence on their vehicles.

The Yard:

The prison's yard has a basketball court, tables, a tower (near of which Trenton abandoned his guitar) and some sheds.

Garage:

The garage is notable for being the least monitored area of the prison. Currently holding a Prison Guard ATV uniform, Prison Guard Cars and ATVs, this area requires a keycard to enter. Despite not being the prison's official helipad, the roof of the garage is commonly used for helicopter landings as many prisoners are unable to get to the helicopter when it lands here.

Helipad:

Behind the prison's official helipad is a changing room with pilot attire and a parachute room with free parachutes. It also can fit two helicopters. The helipad has a restriction: all helicopters used must be the prison's helicopter brands. There are two helicopter brands available: Regular (1 pilot and 2 passengers) and Military (1 pilot and 6 passengers). The Military Helicopter also has a restriction: all helicopter pilots must display a permit that allows them to fly it. However, their passengers are not required to have this permit.

Walworth:

Walworth is a town-sized district of Bloxburg with houses. It is located beside the cliff of the prison. It has an outpost for members of the Mercenary club of the fugitive's hideout, an ATV dealership, and an abandoned brown house. Investigations to the abandoned brown house reveal that it has a printer. That printer can print fake prison guard identification cards.

Fugitive Hideout:

The fugitive hideout has weapons such as the AK47, Makarov, M10A4 and the hammer.

Mercenary Club Outpost

Restricted to Mercenary Club members, it is where more powerful weapons are housed. Examples include the AK47-U, L85A2 and S&W 638. A required but not mandatory clothing to wear during outpost events: the mercenary uniform.

Cake Room:

The Cake Room is a room that the warden made just to see if Robloxians are really clever in the prison. This room is inaccessible via appearance means, but Robloxians willing to use a little perception will reveal that the room has a hidden door that can be entered to. In the room is a cake, a vent, and crates. This vent is unique in which it is made out of diamond, and thus, cannot be broken.

All stuff in the prison (excludes third-party stuff):

Prison guards must have:

Prison guard Hat, M16, SPAS 12, and Beretta M9.

(Police hat is optional)

Robloxians can have:

The hammer, AK47, M1014, PUNCH, MAKAROV, M16, SPAS 12, Beretta M9 or Trenton's Guitar.

Prison guards joining the Spec Ops must have:

The ACR, M14, and Revolver, and their Spec Ops outfit.

Prisoners can have:

The AK47, M10A4, Hammer, and/or the Makarov.

Mercenary Club members can have:

Mercenary Outfit, AK47U, S&W 638, or the L86A2

Renovations:

Redwood Prison's most recent renovation was the commencement of the shipment of four-wheelers and ammo crates on March 2017.

Abandonment

After news of the 3G Tragedy, the prisoners of Redwood rioted. Bloxburg and Walworth specifically had high density Guest populations. The knowledge that the prisoners' guest friends had been murdered infuriated them. What commenced was an 11 day standoff with police, SWAT and even the Army. After 11 days, government forces cut their losses and fled the area, evacuating Walworth along with it. Once Redwood Prison was free of police, the prisoners all escaped. The prison remains abandoned to this day, only inhabited by homeless people or nomads. The Redwood Riots resulted in the deaths of 345 inmates, 908 government employees and 32 civilians, alongside 1000's of injuries.

Legacy

Redwood was notorious for being one of the first prisons to utilise the 'Aesthetical' method of running a prison. It was a relatively small complex but it housed some infamous criminals, including Fave, MisterObvious and Julius Cole. The Redwood Riots are considered the most violent and insane prison riots in all of Robloxian history.
