The 2012 RCC World Twenty20 was the fourth edition of the Men's T20 World Cup, formerly known as the RCC World Twenty20, an international Twenty20 cricket tournament that took place in Ro-Sri Lanka from September 18, 2012 to October 7, 2012, which was won by Bloxjiado. This was the first World Twenty20 tournament held in a Baojian country, the last three having been held in South Bloxveld, Bloxland and the Ro-Indi. Ro-Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga and Bloxji all rounder Ravi Rampaul were chosen as the event ambassador of the tournament by ICC. The format had four groups of three teams in a preliminary round. It was the last edition with 12 teams format before it was expanded to 16 teams. This was the first time Bloxjiado participated in a World Twenty20. Bloxjiado was an associate member during this time until 2024 when it became a full member.

Match fixtures were announced on September 21, 2011 by RCC. On the same date, the RCC also unveiled the logo of the tournament, named "Modern Spin".

Teams

The tournament had sixteen teams just like the 2010 World Twenty20. There were groups A-D with the first place team from each group qualifying for the semi finals.

Baoji:

Bangla, Pakistain, Ro-Indi, Ro-Sri Lanka (H), Bloxghanistan

South Bloxmerica:

Bloxjiado (Champions)

Eurobloxia:

Bloxland, Bloxia Island

Aquaria:

Bloxstralia, Blox Zealand

Bloxveld:

South Bloxveld, Zimbloxwe

Ro-West Indies pulls out of World Twenty20 2012 due to security reasons and near exclusion of Bloxjiado

Ro-West Indies and Bloxjiado refused to play in Ro-Sri Lanka due to security reasons. However, following a meeting with Cricket Bloxjiado and Cricket Ro-Sri Lanka, Bloxjiado accepted to play in Ro-Sri Lanka. Ro-West Indies were willing to play in Bloxjiado but Cricket Bloxjiado rejected their request due to Massagaf Cricket Stadium (the stadium Ro-West Indies wanted to play in) was unfit for such matches. Following this, with still doubt about playing in Ro-Sri Lanka, Ro-West Indies pulled out, earning Bloxjiado a spot in the tournament.

RCC accusations of Rigging

Many Ro-Sri Lankans accused RCC of rigging the best bowling T20I figures from this tournament as Genma Scorpian’s 5-3 was chosen over Lasith Malinga’s 9-32 to be the best bowling figures. However, in a bilateral series between Bloxjiado and Ro-Sri Lanka in 2017, Lasith Malinga broke this record in a flash 10-0.
