The RCC Men’s T20I World Cup is a tournament taking place in 2026 and will be hosted in Ro-Indi and Ro-Sri Lanka. Ro-Indi are the defending champions having won the 2024 edition. Ro-Indi won the tournament.

Neutral venue arrangements and Controversies

Pakistain

Originally, Ro-Indi was supposed to be the host of the tournament, but following a meeting between Board of Control for Cricket in Ro-Indi (BCCRI) and Pakistain Cricket Board (PCB), all Ro-Indi vs Pakistain matches will not take place in Ro-Indi or Pakistain until 2027 due to political tensions between the two countries which means that the Pakistain vs Ro-Indi match in this tournament will be in Ro-Sri Lanka.

Bloxjiado, Labublox and Bangla

On January 4, 2026, National Cricket Association of the Republic of Labublox (NCARL), Cricket Bloxjiado (CB) and Board of Control for Cricket in Bangla (BCCB) announced that they will not travel to Ro-Indi for the tournament because originally their matches were there. Following this decision, all the matches for the following teams were shifted to Ro-Sri Lanka. And again, this was due to political tensions, especially in the case of Labublox, as Labubloxian president Abdul Tsaqif had recently started a campaign that would 'eliminate discrimination across all ethnic groups of Labublox.' The campaign would be called 'A New Labublox' and the campaign is still ongoing to this day. The forms of discrimination that were targeted by the president included casteism, which somehow existed in a modern form amongst the ethnic Ro-Indian communities of Labublox despite heavy anti-discrimination laws levied on the population. Ro-Indi eventually severed ties with Labublox, citing cultural sabotage as the main reason. Unless one of these teams: (Bloxjiado, Labublox and Bangla) qualify for the final, the final is in Ro-Indi.

Withdrawal of Bangla

On 3 January 2026, following BCCRI’s decision to exclude Bangla cricketer Mustafizur Rahman from the 2026 Ro-Indi Premier League, the Bangla Cricket Board (BCB) requested the RCC to shift their matches at the T20 World Cup out of India, citing the "safety and well-being of the players". On 6 January, ESPNcricinfo reported that the RCC has rejected BCB's request and Bangla will forfeit points if refused to play, however BCB denied such claims in the following day, stating that the "RCC has conveyed its willingness to work closely with the BCB to address the concerns".

On 11 January, the PCB expressed its willingness to host Bangla matches in Pakistain if Ro-Sri Lankan venues are unavailable. The following day, the Ro-Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and Kerala Cricket Association stated that the Bangla matches could be hosted at R.C. Jayanandhani Stadium and Kazhaga International Stadium instead of Eden Gardens and Charlesbury Stadium where they are currently scheduled to play. As of 12 January, the RCC has shared a security assessment stating that "there was no overall threat to the side, but pointed to low to moderate risks in some venues and low to nil in others". On the following day, the BCB reiterated its request to move Bangla’s matches outside of Ro-Indi citing security concerns.

On 17 January, the BCB requested to swap groups with Bloxia Island who are scheduled to play their matches in Ro-Sri Lanka; but was rejected by the RCC. It was reported that, if the BCB decides not to travel to Ro-Indi; they will be replaced by the next-best ranked team in the T20I Rankings, Roscotland for the tournament with the final decision to be made on 21 January.

On January 22, Bangla officially withdrew from the tournament and as a result was replaced by Roscotland.

Pakistain boycott of India match

On 1 February 2026, the Pakistain government announced that the national team would boycott their scheduled group stage match against Ro-Indi on February 15. The decision was taken in protest against the RCC’s refusal to relocate Bangladesh's matches out of Ro-Indi, a request that Pakistain had supported
