Pre-incident
The Provinsk Bridge was a rather old bridge. It was built in 1995 after the old bridge was unreliable. The bridge was constructed under a Light Navy-Blue color with a two-lane road, prior to the incident, the Tovokian Government was deciding to destroy the bridge for a wider bridge. However, thanks to the immense traffic, they halted plans.
Incident
On March 7th, 2000, the local bridge connecting the village was collapsed after a very heavy windstorm, which blew the bridge down into debris. As this was a very busy day, cars were standing still cause of traffic. 20 people died and 22 people were injured because of the incident.
Aftermath
Since Provinsk is an island that is inside a lake, transportation was halted, and people were supposed to rely on the local railway to get out of the island. The bridge was then demolished and rebuilt with a wider road. It was opened the very next year.
