Otto Cummings (July 11, 1904 — September 28, 1953) was a Robloxian businessman and the founder of Bloxtems, a Robloxian business that sold various goods. His son, George Cummings, had also started a business like Otto. Otto’s company had been a successful company that was well known around New Bloxia during the mid 20th century. The business is still a prominent business among New Bloxia.
Biography
Early Life
Otto Cummings was born on July 11, 1904 in St. Helens, New Bloxia to the parents of Ronald Cummings and Clara Cummings who were running a small general store near their house. As Otto was in his adolescence, he had helped his family in the store often learning how to manage it too and tried helping the customers too. As he grew, up he got more into learning economics and businesses. His parents' store eventually closed in 1923 as they retired.
Career and Business
In 1931, when Otto was 27 years old, he had founded the business, Bloxtems which had sold everyday household goods like groceries, cleaning products and basic tools and his aim was to make affordable goods and high quality products. Bloxtems started as a small business as he opened a small store near his house. The company gradually expanded later on. Otto started making plenty of renovations to the store to improve it and started to success.
By the 1940s, Bloxtems had grown into one of the city's most prominent businesses. The company expanded to multiple locations across the city, offering a wide range of goods from groceries and textiles to electronics and household appliances and the store had been upgraded. The economy had rapidly increased and the family later on became rich. By 1949, Bloxtems had become a significant and recognisable company across the city, and Otto had planned on expanding it onto neighboring cities, however, there was still not enough money for that amount of shops. His son, George had been also working in Otto's business in 1952 and 1953.
Personal Life
Otto Cummings married to Dorothy Miller in 1929 and had two kids, George Cummings and Louise Cummings. The family had lived under good conditions after a rise in their economy. Otto's son, George followed his father's footsteps in becoming an entrepreneur and had also done that for his family after Otto's death in 1953.
Death and Legacy
Otto Cummings unexpectedly passed away on September 28, 1953 due to a heart attack. His death had caused a significant problem to his business and the business was continued by Otto's partners in the partnership of the business. However, George started another business in selling time pieces. Bloxtems remained a prominent company among St. Helens.
