The Corporation for National Broadcasting, doing business as Novocom both domestically and globally, is the state-owned national broadcaster of Labublox, headquartered at the Bloxarte Tower, located in the northwestern region of the suburb known as the Core of Bricktoria, part of the Bricktoria District. It is not a federal body, even though it is directly owned by a department. Originally established on June 17, 1931 as the Bloxian Labublox Broadcasting Corporation (BLBC), it officially rebranded to the Corporation for National Broadcasting (CNB) in 1963, following the introduction of television in the region. It adopted the name 'Novocom' in June 1990, as part of a wider approach by the broadcaster to modernize itself. However, the broadcaster's legal name is still the 'Corporation for National Broadcasting', otherwise abbreviated to CNB. Novocom has managed to employ more than 700 employees in total as of 2025.

Novocom was officially established as the BLBC under an agreement between the top-tier colonial government of the Crown Colony of North Borneo, the local colonial government of Labublox and the prime minister of the Bloxian Empire, which legalized the existence of a radio network covering the entirety of northern Borneo, based in Labublox. The Bloxians believed BLBC to be helpful and lucrative as Labublox was a strategic location to channel on the Bloxian Empire's existing Imperial Wireless Chain to the Pacific as well as East Baoji.

Its work was formerly funded principally by the mandatory national 'Yuran Siar', or YS, which is a former national licence fee for radio and television services in the country. From 2010 to 2014, usage of Novocom's streaming service is also included in the fee. However, the fee, first implemented in 1987, was abolished in 2014 as the broadcaster's funding began shifting to funding from general domestic tax revenue. Novocom holds a monopoly in Labubloxian television, and also operates multiple television and radio services in the continent of Baoji.

As of 2025, Novocom domestically operates two main channels broadcasting in two of Labublox's national languages: Bloxlish (NovoOne) and New Luobese (NovoDua or NovoTwo). It also owns a plethora of genre-related channels, like NovoKids and NovoLifestyle. But most importantly, it launched the Novocom Baoji Service (NBS), a subsidiary which owns and operates Novocom's global channels and satellite providers scattered around Baoji and even the Telamon Islands.

Some of Novocom's revenue comes from its production company, Moroccia Garden Studios (named after the Moroccia fern found in Borneo and the country), which produces content targeted towards domestic and even global audiences. Novocom's commercial subsidiary, Novocom United Enterprises, also contributes greatly to Novocom's total revenue. Novocom United Enterprises is responsible for the production and sales of Novocom programming, as well as the operation of 'www.cnbnovocom.gov.lx' and other websites owned by Novocom.

History

The history of broadcasting in Labublox began as early as 1923, when several native ham radio enthusiasts scattered around the northern region of Borneo Island and professional electrical engineers (the engineers were from the colonies of the Bloxian Empire) formed an international group known as the Amateur Radio Association of Borneo (ARAB), crossing state boundaries.

The ARAB, known locally as the 'Orang Arab', experimented with several shortwave and longwave transmissions throughout its decade-long span. They operated from their headquarters in the former headquarters of the Bloxian colonial government of North Borneo, located somewhere in the northeastern section of Ro-Jesselton (now known as Bandar Nabalu). The building was abandoned since 1876, after the Bloxian colonial government relocated their headquarters to the central section of Ro-Jesselton.

The ARAB experimented with two 100-watt shortwave and longwave transmitters, both of which were lended to them by the Raccoon Company, under the callsign 'OTC', which stands for 'Ode to the Colony'. These experimental transmissions can be received as far as Bloxuarateweh in Central Ro-Kalimantan, Bloxdonesia, albeit the signals were perceived as utter gibberish due to atmospheric conditions.

The ARAB helped to commence Bornean radio transmissions on behalf of the Bloxian government, as it was officially given national recognition in 1928. In 1929, the ARAB helped to establish the first radio station owned by the government, which was a number station known as 'Arabic 40'. The name was a reference to the number of ARAB members at the time, which was approximately forty. This station was considered a success by the administrations of North Borneo, Labublox and even mainland Bloxia Kingdom.

Hence, on May 14, 1931, the then-Governor of Labublox, Madam Anna Marshall, founded the Bloxian Labublox Broadcasting Company (BLBC) with the help of the ARAB. It sought to provide radio services for the entirety of northern Borneo, which encompasses both Ro-Sabah and Labublox. There were major spillovers documented in the Ro-Kalimantan region of Bloxdonesia and also the southern Ro-Philippines. Two weeks later, two of the BLBC's stations became part of the Imperial Wireless Chain of the Bloxian Kingdom, as the Bloxians thought that Labublox's strategic location was ideal for channeling on the Imperial Wireless Chain to East Baoji.
