Noobwood International Airport (RATA Code: NOB / RACO Code: NOOB / VMO Code NOB) is the main gateway to the DSWN. The airport was built in 1997 and started operations in 1998. Over 40 airlines serve Noobwood International Airport, including Noob Airlines, the flag carrier and the largest airline of the DSWN.
Noobwood International Airport used to be a small airport serving Noobwood, before it was expanded.
History
In 1960, Noobwood Regional Airport was constructed, it was an airport to reduce traffic in by-then Noobwood International Airport. Noobwood Regional Airport had only a small traffic and would generally mostly have general aviation movements. In 1987, Noobwood International Airport had reached almost its limit, and would futhermore be over the passenger capacity by 2000, so a new airport had been planned to replace and to ease the congestion of the older airport.
Originally, Noobwood Regional Airport hadn't been a part of the plan of a new airport, it was rather to close the airport down for further city development, when deciding the planned area, there wasn't a good area for the new airport, so Noobwood Regional Airport was decided to be rennovated and upgraded to handle international traffic. By the 1990s, Noobwood Regional Airport had been closed down and had been expanded, by that two runways were constructed and a larger terminal, also known as Terminal 2 was built.
By 1998, Noobwood Regional Airport had opened finally, and had inherited the airport codes from the older Noobwood International Airport, and changed its name to Noobwood International Airport. Almost instantly Noobwood International Airport was with a lot of passenger traffic. Although that the opening was a success, there was instantly a lot of congestion, so a new terminal was proposed to be open only for Noob Airlines, construction started in 1999, and in 2003, Terminal 3 opened.
After the 2000s, the airport was named one of the busiest in Aquaria as a whole, placing in 9th in the region and 44th globally. In 2018, construction for a new terminal was announced for low-cost carriers, which would be soon called Terminal 4. Terminal 4 opened in 2026 after the hijacking in Noobwood International Airport.
Terminals
Terminal 2
Terminal 2 is a terminal that hosts international airlines and more smaller airlines that operate in the DSWN. Terminal 2 is connected by a monorail that is connected towards every terminal in Noobwood International Airport. Terminal 2 has several other satelite buildings, which are the baggage terminal, and the arrival hall.
Terminal 3
Terminal 3 is the main terminal of the airport, it only serves Noob Airlines. Terminal 3 is the largest terminal in the airport, and is the only terminal without any satelite stands.
Terminal 4
Terminal 4 is a new terminal that targets itself to low-cost carriers to avoid more traffic at Terminal 2, especially when Noobwood is expected to have more passengers in the future.
Former Terminals
Terminal 1
Terminal 1 is located inside the entrance terminal, and was the oldest terminal in the airport. The terminal used to have a remote area in which private jets and small aircraft are parked. Now the terminal had been partially dismantled to make way for a revamp of Terminal 2's check in area.
