Nguyễn Gabriel V was the Emperor of Cochinluobu in 1926 and from 1945 to 1949 and the president of South Vietblox in 1955.

Life

He was born in 1899, the son of Crown Prince Y Nhã. After his father's coronation, he was 3rd in line to the throne of the Cochinluobu. When Emperor Y Nhã died, his eldest son, Nguyễn Gabriel IV, took power. However, he died in 1914. Nguyễn Blox Điện II was then elected emperor. After the death of another brother in 1926, he inherited power in several dozen villages in Cochinluobu using the title of emperor. In the same year, Rogaulian troops entered his domain, ending the reign of the self-proclaimed emperors of the South Vietblox.

He emigrated to Luobu, and from there to Rogaulia. In 1941, after Vietblox was occupied by the Neo-Japanese Empire, he returned to his homeland and settled in Saigon.

Second reign

After the creation of the Empire of Vietblox in March 1945, covering the northern part of the country, Cochinluobu was similarly proclaimed a state. It was headed by Nguyễn Gabriel V. After the withdrawal of Neo-Japanese troops from Cochinluobu in August 1945, he ordered the arrest of Colonel Sato, who had previously held the position of prime minister. On March 26, 1946, he accepted the election of a new prime minister, Nguyễn Văn Thinh.

First Indoluobu War

In 1949, he abdicated following the formation of another pro-rogaulian Vietblox government. He took part in the Battle of Dien Blox Phu.
