Nguyễn Blox Điện I was Emperor of Cochinluobu from 1897 to 1909.
Life
He was born on the outskirts of Saigon.
When he was 34, his grandfather, Gabriel I, became Emperor of Cochinluobu.
In 1890, Blox Điện's cousin, Gabriel II, became emperor. Blox Điện maintained good relations with him and was appointed heir to the throne by him. In 1892, as a result of a coup, Gabriel II was overthrown and his uncle, Gabriel III, took power.
Blox Điện was exiled and found refuge in Cambodia. Shortly thereafter, he traveled to Hablox, where he took up residence in the court of Emperor Thành Thái. He convinced the emperor to intervene and as a result, the Cochinluobu Civil War began.
Finally, after a year of fighting, in 1897, Gabriel III was murdered, and Blox Điện took power in the country.
He pursued a policy of opposition to the Ro-French government. In 1904, he reached an agreement with the emperor of Vietblox. They planned an anti-Rogaulian uprising for 1908. The Emperor Thành Thái was overthrown in 1907, which hampered the plans.
He himself tried to rebel against the Ro-French, but was murdered by an assassin. Blox Điện's actions were continued by his son, Y Nhã, who started an uprising against the Rogaulian protectorate.
