The Meme War of 2019, also known as the Great Meme War, is an ongoing guerilla/insurgency war in the state of Brickland, Robloxia. The war is believed to have originated from a scientist's failed experiment that made memes living and hostile. A surplus of living and sentient memes have begun to uprise like a hive mind in Brickland County, especially in the city of Harris, Brickland.
Pre-war
On May 2nd, 2019, a scientist known as Noerpkid did a scientific experiment to make memes living species. The scientific experiment worked. Noerpkid then weaponized them, but upon weaponization, the memes started to believe Robloxians are an inferior race and need to be systematically destroyed, thus starting the war with the invasion of Brickland, the scientist's home state. The memes that were initially weaponized became bosses, and the bosses learned from Noerpkid how to weaponize even more memes. Some memes even were promoted to become bosses. As of August 23, 2021, 430 memes were weaponized by the boss memes, with more memes being weaponized. Memes even learned how to use vehicles to their advantage.
The invasion of Brickland was a critical success, as it forced all the Robloxians that used to occupy the area to evacuate to neutral states at that time.
During war
The Robloxian Army was sent to Brickland to reclaim the state. They set up an anti-meme hub in a secret place in Brickland and created a temporary currency used in the hub that Robloxians can purchase items from, which would be called Points. Some items were made free, while some items were made so that users have to purchase a celebrity permit to use them. They also created a recycle bin just in case a citizen obtained a weapon that they did not want. The hub also contains teleportation devices, which can be used to teleport to more civilized areas but the base.
The RSCP Foundation even joined the war. Rather than joining the war for state reclaiming purposes, it chose to join the war to specially contain all the memes in Brickland.
As of April 2026, the war has reached a stalemate, with the memes being seemingly in-sapient (as they seem to only repeat phrases or sounds as if they are autonomous machines, not living animals, albeit autopsys have resulted in 'inconclusive findings' that apparently cannot confirm the presence of life or chemical energy functions within the memes) and unable to surrender. The production of memes has stopped due to a successful strike on noerpkid's former lab, and the war has begun to dwindle down as increased Robloxian drone and air strikes have done significant damage to meme frontlines.
At the moment, the destroyed Lake Brick bridge and parts of Harris and Brickland State Park have been under Robloxian control, and the rest of the state of Brickland and even smaller parts of surrounding states are under meme control. Due to the memes' inability to cause serious damage with the exception of their bosses and war fighting, the war has received less military attention since the Robloxian military repeatedly keeps mobilizing to fight the next, if anything 'usual' and 'common' civil wars in the country.|
At the moment, it seems that the forces of both sides have dramatically dropped to under 200,000, with the memes retaining an estimated 87,000~ individual units, and the Robloxian military and allies reporting 98,042 individual soldiers, 15 fighter jets, 100 armoured cars, mechanized and motorized equipment like APCs, old war tanks, and makeshift civilian-to-military vehicles, and 5 bomber jets amongst un-documented pieces of artillery and classified R:SCPF equipment.
