The March 27, 2022 Metro Crash (or "March 27") was a metro derailment that caused a localized shortage of Redcliff City's running clean water supply.

Synopsis:

Occurring at Western Redcliff City at 2:30 PM local time, the accident involved a subway train that travelled at 95 mph that had recently departed from West Subway Station, heading towards Town Hall Station. Things went awry as the train approached the track switcher, 550 meters from West Subway Station. The Robloxian who managed the track switches tried to switch the track, but the track switches ended up forcing the train to travel on broken tracks. When the train travelled on the broken tracks, the train went flying and eventually derailed itself. The derailed train hit some water pipes, providing so much strain that the corresponding stress was enough to make them fracture. In an stress-strain curve, the water pipes were way beyond the fracture point. The train finally was at rest at Platform 01 at the Hughes X1 Mall Centre near the west of the city. Fractured, the water pipes began to drip with water, with the dripping so severe that the metro eventually flooded. By the time the police, in collaboration with the metro maintenance team and the rescue team, arrived, they saw that the metro had been turned into an aquarium, minus the animals, that is. Luckily, there were no fatalities.

Also, due to fractured water pipes, many homes in Redcliff City lacked running clean water, causing a localized shortage of running clean water. Homes in Redcliff City either had no water or had running water, but the water was polluted considerably.

Aftermath:

At 3:50 PM, the Redcliff City Courthouse began a court case to find the culprit. The court case became a hung jury initially as nobody was to blame; the switchers never worked as intended. Eventually, a witness was called to the stand. The witness turned out to be one of the maintenance team members. He self-incriminated himself, saying that he forgot to fix the tracks and the switchers at 2:15 PM. The Redcliff City Courthouse sentenced him to prison and was blacklisted by the maintenance team while his sentence was carried out. While the sentence was carried out, reconstruction and maintenance of the subway has commenced. It took 1.8M Robux to fix the subway, which lasted for three months. The fractured water pipes had their pipes replaced with higher shear modulus, ensuring that they will not fracture even if it happens again, and running clean water returned before a majority of Robloxians in the city said that they would travel to the beach, collect seawater, and desalinate just to get clean water for their homes.
